About Jigsaw Puzzles

Play Jigsaw Puzzles online free with five detailed photographs. Fit 80 to 2,400 interlocking pieces, move connected groups, pan and zoom, and resume each picture later.

How to play Jigsaw Puzzles

Close the mouse or touch instructions by clicking outside the white panel. Drag neighboring pieces close to their correct relative positions; they snap into a connected group that can be moved together. The entire picture is complete when only one group remains. There is no countdown, rotation, hint or currency system.

Use Select puzzle in the sidebar to choose the 10×8 (80), 10×15 (150), 12×18 (216), 16×24 (384) or 40×60 (2,400) picture. Each picture has its own progress. Right/middle mouse drag or Ctrl+left drag pans; the mouse wheel pans and Ctrl+wheel changes zoom. One finger moves pieces; two fingers pan or pinch to zoom. The picture previews in Select and What is this? help identify the image.

Reset asks for confirmation and restarts only the current picture. Progress stores all picture seeds, connected groups, exact positions, view coordinates and elapsed times. Sign in on FoolFish before opening for an account checkpoint; guest saves remain separate and device conflicts require an explicit choice.

Play Jigsaw Puzzles online: put the whole picture together

Choose a detailed photograph of Kyoto’s Golden Pavilion, fern tissue under a microscope, Ho Chi Minh City, Moroccan pottery or Isfahan’s Jāmeh Mosque. Each picture becomes a scattered jigsaw with a different number of pieces.

There is no turn limit, countdown or opponent. An elapsed timer records your session, while the connection counter shows how much of the image you have assembled. Start with the 80-piece picture to learn the controls before choosing a larger puzzle.

How to play a jigsaw puzzle: matching edges and picture details

Drag a piece beside the neighbor it belongs to in the finished image. A close, correct match snaps the pieces together. Similar tabs or colors alone are not enough: the pieces must be genuine neighbors from the same picture.

The game joins pieces to one another rather than requiring every piece to be placed in a fixed board slot. A joined section can be dragged as a single group. Rebuild all sections until they connect into one complete picture.

Five picture sizes, from 80 pieces to a 2,400-piece jigsaw

The picture menu offers fixed grids of 10×8, 10×15, 12×18, 16×24 and 40×60 pieces. These contain 80, 150, 216, 384 and 2,400 pieces respectively. Select another picture to change the size; this edition does not offer a separate difficulty slider or custom image upload.

The photographs have varied detail: architecture gives straight reference lines, the city offers many buildings, pottery has repeated patterns and the microscope picture tests subtle color matching. The largest mosque puzzle rewards careful attention to ornament and symmetry.

Move connected groups, pan the table and zoom out

Once pieces snap, move the whole connected group to free working space. Keep matching features near each other and bring larger sections together when their edges align. Pieces keep their orientation, so there is no rotation control.

Right or middle mouse drag pans the table, as does Ctrl plus left drag. The mouse wheel pans; Ctrl plus wheel changes zoom. On touch screens, one finger moves a piece and two fingers pan or pinch to zoom. Zooming out is particularly useful for seeing scattered pieces in the larger pictures.

Jigsaw puzzle tips: edges, recognizable features and small clusters

Look for straight outside edges and distinctive features before comparing areas of similar texture. The temple roof, city skyline, pottery handles and repeating mosque details provide different kinds of visual clues. The picture thumbnails help you check which region you are assembling.

Build two or three small clusters, then compare the details at their boundaries. A group that belongs next to another should meet without forcing an unrelated edge. Pan and zoom to keep a working area clear rather than repeatedly resetting a puzzle.

Switch pictures without losing progress; reset only when ready

Select puzzle opens the five picture previews. Switching pictures stores the current position and restores the selected picture’s previous progress. You can return to an unfinished picture after trying another size.

The sidebar’s Reset button asks for confirmation. Confirming starts a new scatter and shape seed for the current picture and resets its timer, while the other pictures remain saved. Completing a picture opens the sidebar and shows the original completion effect; choose another picture when you want to continue.

Saved pieces, elapsed timers and account checkpoints

Progress records all five pictures together, including each shape seed, connected groups, group positions, pan and zoom coordinates and accumulated elapsed time. A refresh restores those details. Browser storage is required for local saves.

Open the game from a signed-in FoolFish account to use account checkpoints on another device. Guest and account saves remain separate. If devices contain different pending progress, use Save and choose which complete checkpoint to keep. Host pauses stop interaction and suspend the session timer until play resumes.

Common questions

How do I play Jigsaw Puzzles?

Drag correct neighboring pieces close together so they snap into a connected group. Continue joining groups until every piece forms one complete picture.

How many pieces do the pictures have?

Five pictures use fixed 80-, 150-, 216-, 384- and 2,400-piece grids. Select another picture to choose a different size.

Can I upload a photo or rotate pieces?

No. This edition provides five built-in pictures with fixed grids. Pieces keep their orientation, and there is no upload, rotation or hint control.

How do I find pieces outside the visible area?

Pan with right/middle mouse drag, Ctrl plus left drag or the wheel. Use Ctrl plus wheel to zoom out. On touch screens, use two fingers to pan or pinch to zoom.

Does switching a picture erase my progress?

No. Each picture keeps its progress. Reset asks for confirmation and restarts only the currently selected picture.

Is there a time limit?

No. The elapsed timer records time; it does not end the puzzle. Completion means joining every piece into one connected image.

Can I continue on a different device?

Sign in on FoolFish before opening the game to use the account checkpoint. Guest progress stays separate; conflicting device saves require an explicit choice.
