About Tangram

Play Tangram online on FoolFish Games and turn seven simple shapes into a complete picture. Move two large triangles, one medium triangle, two small triangles, a square and a parallelogram into each silhouette. Rotate in 45-degree steps, flip a piece when needed and fit every edge without overlap. Six original puzzles, optional outlines and a gentle hint let you choose your own pace. This free browser puzzle runs without a download or registration. Use a mouse, trackpad, touch controls or keyboard on a Chromebook or another browser device, and return to the arrangement saved in your browser. Try Tangram on your Chromebook during a school or work break: fit seven shapes into a silhouette at your own pace.

How to play Tangram

Choose one of six puzzles. Select and drag a piece into the silhouette, then rotate or flip it until it fits. Correct placements snap into position. Fill the whole silhouette using all seven pieces; the large triangles and small triangles can exchange matching positions. Outlines shows the internal edges and Hint highlights a suitable place for the selected shape. Reset starts the current puzzle over, and Next puzzle appears when it is complete.

Mouse / trackpad / touch: drag a piece; use Rotate left, Rotate right and Flip. Keyboard: 1–7 selects a piece, arrows move it, Shift + arrows moves farther, R rotates right, Q rotates left and F flips. With focus on the board or page, press Enter to attempt placement. Tab navigates the buttons. Pause freezes the puzzle and timer.

Fit two shapes in your first Tangram puzzle

Tangram on FoolFish Games begins with five pieces already placed. Fit the remaining little triangle and square into their outlines to complete the shape. The next Lagoon Square puzzle asks you to place all seven pieces, with outlines to show how their edges meet before you move on to other silhouettes.

Match the angle as well as the outline

Compare a piece's corners with the space you are trying to fill. Rotation changes which edge can meet a neighboring piece, while flipping helps when a shape faces the other way. The aim is to fit all seven pieces into the silhouette without leaving gaps or overlapping them.

This online shape puzzle gives you a small first task before the complete seven-piece challenge. For another spatial problem, push boxes onto goals in Fish Sokoban, or find another browser puzzle in the Chromebook games collection.
