About Fish FreeCell

Play Fish FreeCell online on a calm underwater table. Rearrange 52 face-up cards using four free cells, organize alternating-color runs and complete four suit foundations. Includes 50,000 numbered deals and saved progress.

How to play Fish FreeCell

Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building each suit from ace to king. The eight columns build downward in alternating colors. Any card can start an empty column.

Each of the four free cells holds one card. A group can move only when it forms a descending alternating-color run and there is enough temporary space: empty free cells plus empty columns plus one. Subtract one when the destination is an empty column.

Drag cards to their destination, or select a card and then select its target. Double-click tries a foundation, a tableau column, then a free cell. Foundation top cards can return to the table.

Undo restores the previous board and adds one move. Pause and menus stop the clock. Auto finish starts when the free cells are empty and every remaining column is ordered. Change it in Options.

Choose a numbered deal from 1 to 50,000, restart the same layout, or start a random game. Browser progress is saved automatically; sign in on FoolFish before opening for account checkpoints. Statistics stay in this browser.

Play Fish FreeCell online

Fish FreeCell brings the fully visible card puzzle to an underwater table. Crowned reef fish decorate kings, queens and jacks, while familiar ranks and suit symbols remain clear. The four temporary cells, eight tableau columns and four foundations follow the same rules as the classic edition. There is no stock and no hidden card draw.

Free cells, tableau columns and foundations

The tableau follows descending rank and alternating colors. A black jack can sit on a red queen. Each free cell holds a single card, while an empty tableau column can accept any rank. A foundation accepts only the next card of its own suit. You may bring its top card back to an empty free cell or a legal tableau position if your plan changes.

How many cards can move together?

An ordered run can move together only when there is enough temporary space. In this edition, the limit is one plus the number of empty free cells and empty tableau columns. When moving into an empty column, exclude that destination from the count. For example, four empty free cells and no empty columns allow five cards to move together. This is a linear capacity rule; versions that use exponential supermoves will accept some longer moves that this game does not.

Fish FreeCell strategy: keep room to rearrange

Before parking a card in a free cell, look for the move that will release it again. An occupied cell reduces the length of the runs you can move. Emptying a tableau column gives you flexible workspace, but filling it too early can make the next transfer impossible. Trace the route to a buried ace or two, and keep both colors available for building down.

The ocean artwork is a visual theme. Fish portraits do not change a card’s rank or add special abilities. The Simple card faces option removes the portraits if you prefer to focus on suit symbols.

Numbered Fish FreeCell deals and replay

Use the deal-number button to choose a layout from 1 to 50,000. A number recreates the same card order, so you can compare approaches or restart a difficult deal. These are this edition’s numbered layouts; the numbers are not Microsoft FreeCell deal IDs. A random game uses the same range. Not every deal is promised to be solvable.

Undo, auto finish and saved games

Drag a card or run, or select it and click the target. Double-click tries an available foundation first, then a column or free cell. Undo adds one to the move total. The elapsed clock has no time limit and pauses in menus. Auto finish is available once every free cell is empty and all remaining columns are ordered.

Progress saves in this browser, including up to 4,096 recent undo actions. Sign in on FoolFish before opening the game for account checkpoints. Save options lets you choose between conflicting boards. Completed-game statistics stay in the current browser and are separate from cloud progress.

Common questions

Can I move a whole stack in Fish FreeCell?

Yes, if the stack descends in alternating colors and fits the available temporary spaces. The limit is empty free cells plus empty columns plus one, excluding an empty destination column.

Do empty columns need a king?

No. Any card or permitted ordered run can start an empty tableau column.

Does Undo reduce the move count?

No. Undo returns the board to its previous position but counts as another move.

Is this a timed Fish FreeCell game?

The clock records elapsed play. It does not impose a deadline or end the game.
