About Fish Nonogram

Play Fish Nonogram online free: reveal ocean pixel pictures with row and column clues. Solve 90 fish and reef puzzles in 5x5, 10x10 and 15x15 grids.

How to play Fish Nonogram

Choose a 5 × 5, 10 × 10 or 15 × 15 grid, then pick one of its 30 puzzles. Play or Continue saved puzzle.

Numbers beside each row and column describe consecutive filled groups in order. Leave at least one empty square between groups. A clue 2, 2 in five cells means fill two, leave one gap, then fill two.

Select Fill, × Mark or Erase. Click/tap a square or drag to paint a stroke. Right-click marks an empty square. Arrow keys move the focused grid selection; Space fills, X marks empty, E erases, Z undoes and Y redoes. An entire drag is one Undo operation.

Hint explains a forced row or column deduction where available; choose Apply this step or Let me try. Check highlights marks that conflict with the solution. Hints are not a three-use consumable.

Fill exactly the solution squares to finish; empty squares do not need × marks. Picture complete shows elapsed time, hints and checks. Choose Next puzzle or return to Collection.

Use Fit, −, + and Move for large grids. Pause stops the active timer; Restart asks before replacing the current grid. Collection retains completed puzzle IDs and one current saved puzzle. Guest progress stays in this browser; signed-in supported FoolFish sessions can sync the checkpoint and choose explicit local/cloud progress if devices conflict. Single player only.

Play Fish Nonogram online

Play Fish Nonogram online free: reveal ocean pixel pictures with row and column clues. Solve 90 fish and reef puzzles in 5x5, 10x10 and 15x15 grids. The ocean collection has 30 original pixel motifs, including reef fish, jellyfish, turtles, coral and shells, each available at three grid resolutions.

This is a single-player picture logic game. Clues describe the picture; the numbers are not values to enter into Sudoku cells. Take your time: the clock records your solve, while Pause stops it when you need a break.

How to read nonogram clues

Read each line’s clues in order. A single 3 means one uninterrupted group of three filled squares. Two clues such as 2, 1 mean a two-square group, at least one empty square, then a one-square group. The rest of the line can contain additional empty spaces.

For a five-square row with clues 2, 2, the groups and their required gap use every square: fill the first two, mark the middle empty, then fill the final two. For clue 3 in a five-square row, every possible placement covers the middle square, so that square is a safe first deduction.

Use rows, columns and empty marks together

A filled square contributes to both its row and column. Compare the two sets of clues before expanding a group. After locating every filled group on one line, mark the remaining spaces with × to keep track of what you have ruled out.

Fill and × Mark are separate tools, and Erase returns a square to unknown. Dragging paints one stroke using the selected tool; Undo reverses that whole stroke, while Redo puts it back. Keyboard players on desktop can move with the arrow keys and use Space, X, E, Z and Y. On touch screens, choose a tool and tap or drag across the grid.

Logical hints and checking mistakes

Hint examines legal placements using your current marks. When every valid arrangement agrees about a square, it explains that forced filled or empty step. You can apply it or close the explanation and continue yourself. If marks conflict, the hint can tell you which line needs another look.

Check highlights filled squares that should be empty and × marks on solution squares. It does not erase your work. Each use is counted in the completion summary, and you can undo or erase the relevant marks. The game does not replace its clue system with a guessing or lives mode.

90 ocean pixel puzzles in three sizes

Fish Nonogram contains 90 original ocean puzzle entries: 30 hand-designed motifs at 5x5, 10x10 and 15x15 resolution. All 90 entries have verified consistent clues and a unique solution under the same run rules. The larger grids expand the original pixel motifs; they do not introduce a new rule or competitive mode.

Use the grid-size buttons and numbered puzzle picker to choose where to start. Larger boards offer Fit and zoom controls, with Move available once zoomed in. To finish a picture, fill all and only its solution squares; you do not have to cross every empty square.

Continue your puzzle and keep your collection

Picture complete shows the picture name, elapsed time and counts of hints and checks. Next puzzle opens the next entry in that size’s 30-puzzle collection. Completed entries are tracked across the collection, and Continue saved puzzle returns to the one current checkpoint.

Guest progress is stored in this browser. Signed-in supported FoolFish sessions can keep an account checkpoint across devices; if a different device has changed that save, choose whether to keep this game or load cloud progress. Restart confirms before replacing the current board and its undo history.

Start with a small nonogram picture

Fish Nonogram begins with a mostly completed 5×5 picture and three filled squares left to find. Follow the highlighted clue to finish the lesson, then solve an easy 5×5 picture yourself. Later, the reef challenge gives you a 10×10 grid with more clues to cross-check.

Use the clues, not a guess

Each number describes a consecutive group of filled cells. Separate two groups with at least one empty cell, and compare a row with the columns that cross it. A completed line helps you mark spaces that cannot belong to the picture, making the next clue easier to read.

This picture logic puzzle on FoolFish Games suits a short browser break: the first boards are small, and the larger grid comes after them. For another clue-based game, try Fish Sudoku, or browse more puzzle games for Chromebook.

Common questions

What is a nonogram?

A nonogram is a picture logic puzzle. Numbers next to each row and column describe runs of filled squares. Use both sets of clues to reveal the hidden pixel picture.

How many puzzles are available?

Fish Nonogram has 90 ocean puzzle entries: 30 original motifs in each of 5x5, 10x10 and 15x15 grids.

Do empty squares all need × marks?

No. Empty marks help your deductions, but completion checks that exactly the solution squares are filled.

Are hints limited to three?

No. This version offers logical steps whenever it finds a forced deduction. Hint and Check counts appear in your completion summary.

Can I undo a drag or a hint?

Yes. Undo reverses the previous stroke or applied square, and Redo restores it. Painting new marks after undo clears the redo branch.

Can I continue on another device?

Standalone guest saves stay in the same browser. Signed-in FoolFish sessions with supported cloud saving can restore the account checkpoint; conflicting device progress requires an explicit local or cloud choice.
