About Fish Water Sort

Play Fish Water Sort, a free color sorting puzzle with 300 levels. Pour matching four-layer cups, uncover lower colors from level 3, earn stars and coins, and buy optional tools with earned coins. New ocean bottles, pearl coins and original underwater audio keep the same sorting challenge.

How to play Fish Water Sort

Select a cup, then another cup that is empty or has the same top color and room left. Cups hold four layers. Only the exposed top run can pour; from level 3, lower layers reveal as you empty them. Finish with every nonempty cup full, one color, and all hidden layers revealed. Earn 10/30/50 coins for one/two/three stars; improving a best result earns only the difference. Buy Undo or Restart for 10 coins, Hint for 20, or Extra Cup for 30; buying adds an item to inventory, then tap it to use it. One Extra Cup per level. Levels 1–2 hints search a solution; level 3+ hints use visible colors only. Tab/Enter select cups; arrow keys move cup focus; U, R and H use owned Undo, Restart and Hint items; Escape deselects or opens the menu. Save and resume in the same browser.

How to play Fish Water Sort

Tap or click a cup, then choose a receiving cup. It must have space and either be empty or have the same top color. Each cup holds four layers. Matching exposed top layers pour together, limited by the space available.

Give each color a full cup of its own and leave the remaining cups empty. From level 3 onward, all hidden layers must also be revealed before the level is complete. A larger number of moves does not invalidate a solution, but it can reduce the star rating.

300 water sorting puzzles

The built-in level bank has 300 fixed puzzles. Completing a level unlocks the next. These are not new random or shared daily layouts: restarting a level returns to its same original colors and arrangement.

Early levels introduce two colors and empty space. Later puzzles use up to eight colors, with four layers of each color and two initially empty cups. Open Choose a level to revisit an unlocked puzzle or improve its stars.

Hidden colors from level 3

Lower colors are automatically covered with question marks from level 3. Only the exposed, revealed run can pour. Removing that run reveals the next layer, so a matching color underneath may need a second pour.

A full single-color cup can still contain an unrevealed layer. It will not finish the level until those layers have been exposed. Keep empty space available to uncover them; the game checks the reveal flags as well as the sorted colors.

Earn stars and coins for efficient solutions

The displayed goal is the level’s move target. Finish at or below it for three stars; the game gives two stars within a small margin and one star for a longer successful solution.

A new best of one, two or three stars is worth a total of 10, 30 or 50 coins. Improving a previous result pays the difference, so replaying the same best result does not repeatedly award coins. There are no cash prizes or paid coin purchases in this build.

Undo, Restart, Hint and Extra Cup items

Tools use earned coins and inventory. Undo and Restart cost 10 coins each, Hint costs 20, and Extra Cup costs 30. The purchase confirmation adds an item; click its tool again to use it. The collection menu also offers packs of 1, 5 or 10.

Undo restores the last pour and its revealed layers. Restart returns to the same puzzle and keeps earned stars, coins and unlocked levels. Extra Cup adds one empty cup, with a limit of one use in a level. A restart removes that round’s extra cup.

Hints and water sort strategy

Levels 1–2 can search for a solution from the current board. If the search cannot produce a hint in time, it does not consume a Hint item. From level 3, hints consider visible colors only and do not reveal an entire hidden solution.

Keep at least one useful empty cup, consolidate matching exposed runs, and avoid filling a receiving cup before checking what you still need to uncover. A hint is a suggested pour; you remain in control of whether to make it.

Mouse, touch, keyboard and browser progress

Select cups with mouse or touch. With a keyboard, Tab and Enter activate a cup, arrow keys move cup focus, and U, R or H use owned Undo, Restart or Hint items. Escape first clears a selected cup; otherwise it opens the pause menu.

Browser progress records the level, board, revealed layers, move history, earned coins, tool inventory, unlocked levels and best stars. A reload resumes the committed move rather than replaying a pouring animation. Local progress depends on the same game and browser storage; it is not automatically shared with another browser.

Ocean bottles and relaxing sorting games

Fish Water Sort replaces the presentation with ocean glass bottles, pearl coins, fish icons and newly composed underwater audio. The 300 puzzles, pouring rules, hidden-color behavior and rewards remain the same as Water Sort.

The collection lets you equip four earned-coin table backgrounds. The glass shape stays fixed in this version. Try the original Water Sort for its pantry presentation, or browse other color and logic puzzles.

Learn the first pours in Fish Water Sort

Fish Water Sort begins near the end of a small puzzle, with two pours left to make. Choose the cup named by the lesson, then its destination to see how matching colors come together. Completing the example takes you into the ordinary first level, where you organize the cups yourself.

Save an empty cup for a useful move

A pour needs a suitable top color and room in the destination cup. Look underneath the color you are moving: the next layer may need a different home. An empty cup can be a valuable temporary space, so consider the next pour before using the last free one.

This color-sorting puzzle runs in the browser on FoolFish Games. If you enjoy arranging colors but want a different board, try Fish Hexa Sort. Both are available in the Chromebook games collection without a separate game installation.

Common questions

Are the tools free?

They cost earned coins: Undo and Restart 10 each, Hint 20, Extra Cup 30. Buying adds an item to inventory before you use it.

Why does a full cup still show a question mark?

From level 3, lower layers must be uncovered. A hidden layer in an otherwise sorted cup still needs to be exposed before completion.

Are the 300 levels random each time?

No. This version uses a fixed 300-level bank. Restarting a level keeps its original arrangement.

Can I earn coins by repeating a finished level?

Only when you improve its best star rating. The reward is the difference between 10, 30 or 50 coins, rather than a repeat payout.

Does Fish Water Sort have different puzzle rules?

No. The ocean artwork and audio change; the same level bank, pouring rules, hidden layers, tools and rewards are preserved.
