About Reversi
Play Reversi online on FoolFish: a classic 8 by 8 strategy board game where one well-placed disc can turn an entire line. Play against a computer that considers upcoming moves, or take turns with a friend on the same device. Black moves first, every legal placement brackets opposing discs, and the side with the most discs wins. Legal-move markers make it easy to learn, while corners and edges give you room to plan. If a player cannot move, the game requires a pass; a full board or two consecutive passes ends the round. Turn the markers off whenever you want a cleaner board. Looking for a browser board game for a Chromebook break? Reversi uses click, tap, or keyboard controls and needs no download. Your exact round is saved automatically so you can return to the same position. This is same-device two-player Reversi, with no online matchmaking or account required for local play.
How to play Reversi
Black plays first. Place a disc on a legal empty square to bracket a straight line of your opponent's discs between two of your own. Every bracketed horizontal, vertical or diagonal line flips.
Click or tap a square. Use the arrow keys to move board focus and Enter or Space to place a disc. Tab reaches other controls.
Choose Play computer or Play with a friend. In computer mode you can choose Black or White.
If no legal move is available, select Pass turn. A player with a legal move cannot pass. The round ends when the board is full or both sides pass consecutively; the side with more discs wins.
Show legal moves toggles the markers. Save options saves immediately and handles account-save conflicts when available. Play again starts a fresh round; New round asks before replacing an active round.

Learn Reversi with your first flip
Reversi introduces its rule through one move: play black on a glowing square to trap a white disc between two black discs. The captured disc flips to your color. Next, finish a short computer game with only eight empty squares; the following reef board leaves a little more room to plan.
Think beyond the biggest immediate flip
A legal move must bracket at least one opposing disc along a straight line. Flipping many discs now can also give your opponent a useful move, so compare the choices that remain afterward. Corners are especially useful because an opponent cannot bracket them from the other side.
FoolFish Games starts this Reversi online game with short positions before a full round. For another computer board game built around captures, try Fish Checkers, or browse our Chromebook games for a different turn-based challenge.
