About Fish Checkers
Fish Checkers takes classic checkers beneath the waves. Move coral and pearl pieces across a sea-green board, jump opposing pieces and earn a crown at the far edge. Play against five computer levels or share one screen with a friend. The ocean artwork changes the setting while every capture and king rule stays the same.
How to play Fish Checkers
Choose Play the computer or Play a friend. Set one of five difficulty levels for the computer. Friend mode is for two players sharing one screen. Coral moves first; Pearl is the opposing side.
Click or tap a piece and then a highlighted destination. Ordinary pieces move and capture diagonally forward. Keyboard arrows move focus; Enter or Space selects a square.
You must jump when a capture is available. Continue jumping with the same piece until no further capture is possible. You may choose any legal capture route; the longest route is not required.
Reaching the opposite back row crowns your piece as a king and ends that turn. Kings move one diagonal square or jump one adjacent opposing piece in either direction.
Win by capturing every opposing piece or leaving the opponent with no legal moves. This edition draws after 30 consecutive moves without a capture.
Optional timed games allow 45 seconds per turn. A missed turn makes a legal move automatically; three missed turns lose the game. Menus and hidden tabs pause the clock.
Use Hint for a suggestion and Undo to take back your turn. Continue game restores your board after returning. Guest saves remain in this browser; sign in on FoolFish before opening the game to use account checkpoints and Save options.

Coral versus pearl: checkers under the sea
A small fish marks every round piece, and a crown clearly identifies a king. Coral pieces face pearl pieces on the sea-green board. Contrasting colors and the familiar square grid keep positions easy to read. Choose Coral reef, Pearl lagoon or Deep ocean in Board & pieces.
Choose a computer challenge or share the board
Select one of five computer levels for a solo game, or choose Play a friend for two players taking turns on the same device. Coral always begins. Start without a timer while learning, or enable forty-five-second turns for quicker decisions. This is same-device multiplayer, with no remote matchmaking.
Capture routes and crowned fish
Tap a piece and then a highlighted destination. Ordinary pieces move diagonally forward. Captures are compulsory: jump an adjacent opponent into an empty square and continue with the same piece while another jump is available. Choose any legal route when the jumps branch. Reaching the opposite back row gains a crown and stops that turn. Kings can move or jump in both directions, but cannot cross several empty squares at once.
Look one jump further
Before offering a piece, trace the entire capture route. A forced jump may open a second or third capture for your opponent. Keep pieces connected and watch the approaches to your back row. Crowning a piece gives it more directions to escape and attack, but an isolated king can still be trapped. Use Hint and Undo to explore decisions before trying a higher difficulty.
Winning, draws and missed turns
Win by removing every opposing piece or blocking all their legal moves. Thirty consecutive moves without a capture draw the game. Timed mode allows forty-five seconds per turn. A missed deadline automatically plays a legal move and uses one of three chances. Losing the third chance ends the match. Menus and hidden tabs pause the timer.
Return to your ocean board
Continue game restores your match. Guest progress stays in this browser; signed-in FoolFish players can use account checkpoints through Save options. Fish Checkers has a separate save from classic Checkers, so trying the wooden-board edition will not replace your ocean match. For another ocean board game, try Fish Chess.
Common questions
Does Fish Checkers change the rules?
No. It has the same compulsory captures, multi-jumps, short-range kings and thirty-move no-capture draw as classic Checkers on FoolFish.
What do the crowns mean?
A crown marks a king. Reach the opposite back row to become a king; that ends the turn. Kings move and jump diagonally in both directions.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Tap a piece and then a highlighted destination. Two players can share the phone in Play a friend mode.
Are the two editions saved separately?
Yes. Each edition keeps its own match and identity. Guest saves stay in the same browser; account checkpoints use Save options.
