About Fish Go Fish

Play Fish Go Fish online free against the computer. Ask for matching ranks, draw from the pond, collect four-card books and choose three computer levels.

How to play Fish Go Fish

Collect more books than the computer. A book is all four suits of one rank. Each player starts with seven cards; you go first.

Click a rank in your hand to ask for all matching computer cards. A successful request keeps your turn. A failed request draws one card and passes the turn, even if the drawn card matches.

You can also click the pond on your turn to draw one without asking, then pass. An empty hand draws one from the pond. Books are removed automatically; all 13 books complete the game.

Choose Easy, Medium or Hard before starting. Play Again deals new cards. Save options manage browser and signed-in account checkpoints. This is a single-player Fish Go Fish rules variant; no remote multiplayer.

An ocean-themed Go Fish card game

Fish Go Fish brings a quiet underwater table to the classic game of asking for matching ranks. Rays, reef fish and turtles decorate the four suits, while the familiar A–K card ranks remain visible in the corners. The artwork does not change which cards match.

A book contains all four cards of one rank, including different suits and their ocean illustrations. You are collecting four queens or four sevens, not four identical animal pictures. The book counters show the score as completed ranks leave your hand.

Ask for a rank, draw from the ocean pond

You and the computer start with seven cards each, with 38 cards in the pond. You always go first. Tap a rank group in your hand to ask for every matching card held by the computer. If the request succeeds, you keep the turn and can ask again.

A failed request draws one card and then passes. This version does not grant another turn for a matching draw. You can also tap the pond directly on your turn to draw one and pass without asking. An empty hand draws one card rather than refilling to seven.

Collect 13 books against the computer

Books form automatically when all four suits of a rank reach one hand. The game finishes when all 13 books are collected, and the player with more books wins. Play Again gives you a newly shuffled 52-card deal.

Choose Easy, Medium or Hard before the deal. Easy picks held ranks randomly; Medium uses the most numerous held rank; Hard also uses the original tracked-rank strategy. The same rules apply at every level, with no paid draws or remote opponents.

Touch controls and ocean sound effects

Tap a card group on mobile, click it with a mouse or focus it and press Enter or Space. Small copy-count badges show how many cards of each rank you hold. The pond uses the same controls when you want to draw and pass.

New ocean SVG art replaces the table, card center marks, backs and computer avatar. Gentle pluck sounds distinguish a draw, successful request and completed book. Use the SFX button to turn these sounds on or off.

Continue the same ocean card game

The exact shuffle and completed moves are checkpointed together, keeping your hand, the computer hand and the pond consistent. A request still in its animation has not changed the saved board yet. Restoring a computer turn resumes one computer action.

Guest progress stays in this browser. Sign in on FoolFish before starting for account checkpoints and use Save options to choose between local and account games when another device has different progress. Exit returns to the lobby while completed progress stays available until a new deal replaces it.

More matching and solitaire card games

Go Fish uses the same matching-book rules with the original webpage artwork. For a different challenge, Hearts introduces trick-taking and penalty points, while Golf Solitaire and TriPeaks Solitaire connect cards by higher-or-lower sequences.

Each game page explains the rules of that particular edition. Browse free card games to compare a matching game, a trick-taking game and a single-player solitaire layout.

Common questions

Does a matching draw give me another turn?

In this version, every failed request passes the turn after drawing one card, even if that card matches the requested rank. Other Fish Go Fish variants can use a different matching-draw rule.

How many cards do players start with?

You and the computer start with seven cards each; 38 cards remain in the pond. Any four-of-a-kind in the opening hand is automatically collected as a book.

Can I play Fish Go Fish with another person online?

This edition is single player against the computer. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard before starting.

What happens when my hand is empty?

Click the pond to draw one card and pass. The computer also draws one when its hand is empty. The hand is not refilled to seven.

Can I continue the same Fish Go Fish game later?

Yes. Completed moves are saved with the exact shuffled deal. Guest saves stay in this browser; signed-in FoolFish sessions can use account checkpoints.
