About Klondike Solitaire
Play Klondike Solitaire online free. Build four foundations from ace to king, arrange alternating colours and choose Draw 1, Draw 3 or Free placement. Includes hints, undo, saved deals and automatic completion.
How to play Klondike Solitaire
Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building each suit from ace to king. Arrange tableau columns downward in alternating red and black colours. A correctly ordered face-up run can move together. Exposing a covered card turns it face up.
Draw 1 turns one stock card at a time; Draw 3 turns three. Only the top waste card can be moved. Recycle the waste when stock is empty. Standard modes allow only kings or king-led runs into empty columns. Free placement draws one and lets any card or valid run start an empty column.
Drag cards, or select a card and then click its destination. Double-click a top card for an automatic legal move. Tab and Enter support keyboard play. Hint suggests a move. Undo keeps the last 64 actions and costs 50 points. Auto complete appears when stock and waste are empty and all tableau cards are face up.
The six-minute clock supplies a time bonus; reaching zero does not end the game. Restart deal uses the same cards. Continue game restores your browser save. Sign in on FoolFish before opening for account checkpoints.

Play Klondike Solitaire online
Klondike Solitaire is the familiar one-deck patience game with seven tableau columns and four foundations. Uncover hidden cards, manage the stock and build each suit from ace to king. Choose a fresh random deal or enter a deal number to replay the same card order. No download or account is needed for browser play.
How to play Klondike Solitaire
Move a face-up card onto a card one rank higher and of the opposite colour. For example, a red queen fits on a black king. You can move a whole descending, alternating-colour run together. When a move exposes a face-down card, it turns over automatically. The foundations build upward by suit, starting with aces. Completing all four king-topped foundations wins the deal.
Draw 1, Draw 3 and Free placement
Draw 1 reveals one stock card at a time. Draw 3 deals three cards, but only the top waste card is available. When the stock runs out, recycle the waste to continue. In both standard modes an empty tableau column accepts only a king or a run headed by a king. Free placement uses one-card draws and allows any card or valid run to fill an empty column; alternating-colour and foundation rules still apply.
Klondike Solitaire strategy for hidden cards
Before moving a card to a foundation, consider whether it is still needed to support an opposite-colour card in the tableau. Prioritize moves that reveal covered cards, especially in longer columns. Keep an empty column useful by planning which king can fill it. In Draw 3, removing a waste card changes which cards become available on the next pass. Not every random deal is winnable, so a blocked position does not necessarily mean a rule has been missed.
Scores, recycling and the six-minute bonus
Free placement starts at 500 points, Draw 1 at 1,000 and Draw 3 at 1,500. Turning over a covered card, using a waste card and adding to a foundation earn points. Recycling the stock and taking a card back from a foundation reduce the score. Undo removes earned points for that action and costs 50 more. The bonus clock counts down from six minutes and adds a remaining-time bonus when you win. Reaching zero leaves the deal playable.
Card controls, undo and saved deals
Drag a card or run to its target, or click a card and then its destination. Double-click a top card to try an automatic legal move; Tab and Enter provide keyboard control. Hint highlights an available move without playing it. Undo retains the latest 64 actions. Auto complete becomes available only when stock and waste are empty and all tableau cards are visible. Progress saves in this browser, and signing in on FoolFish before opening enables account checkpoints.
Common questions
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
Draw 1 reveals one card at a time. Draw 3 deals three cards, with only the top waste card available to move. Both use standard alternating-colour tableau and ace-to-king foundation rules.
Can any card fill an empty column?
In Draw 1 and Draw 3 only a king or a run beginning with a king can fill an empty column. Free placement allows any card or valid run.
Does running out of time lose the game?
No. The six-minute clock controls the winning time bonus. You can keep playing after it reaches zero.
Is every Klondike deal solvable?
No. Random deals are not guaranteed to be winnable. Use Undo, restart the same deal or try a new deal when you get stuck.
